So, with summer just around the corner, it’s time to get your swimmer on and take a splash in some of Hong Kong’s show-stopping pools.
Whether you are looking for a place to kick-off your day with morning laps or to get a little water play, the swanky hotel pools in HK are sure to do the trick. With a range of facilities, from water slides to lounge chairs, you’re sure to find a pool that is perfect for you.
The Peninsula – This hotel knows how to do it big, and their show-stopping indoor pool is no exception. With a Roman-inspired design, marble statues, and striped lounge chairs, the pool will make you feel like you are a 1920’s Gatsby movie star. The stunning pool also offers a sweeping view of the city’s skyline, making it the ideal spot to soak up some rays and kickstart your day.
Another breathtaking addition to HK’s pool scene is the Kerry Hotel. The slick, modern pool is located on the 76th floor of the International Commerce Center. The glass walled pool offers views that are literally out of this world – you can even see the Hong Kong towers on a clear day! The pool also features a smaller jacuzzi pool, where you can relax and unwind after swimming.
For those who aren’t feeling a swim, the Kerry Hotel has plenty of other things to do, including an on-site gym, spa, and restaurant. You can even rent a cabana by the pool for a bit of privacy and relaxation. Guests can also enjoy the hotel’s free parking at Plaza Hollywood near Diamond Hill MTR and Choi Hung Park & Ride MTR Public Car Park.
The infamous Ma On Shan seafront pool has an outdoor complex that overlooks the South China Sea, as well as a main pool and spectator stands. The pool is the largest in the region, and it is especially popular among locals for its four waterslides ranging from 9 to 28 meters long, and whimsical water installations that include mushroom and tree-shaped fountains.
During the summer months, the pool will open to the general public from 8am to 6pm daily. If you plan to visit, we suggest arriving early in the day to secure a good seat to watch the sunset over the harbour. There is also a snack bar and coffee shop for your convenience. The LCSD recommends visiting this pool with a baby stroller, as the stairs can be a challenge for young children. In addition, there are limited changing stations available, so you may want to bring your own change mat. You can also rent a locker at the front desk for an additional fee.
