The HK Phil Wins the Hong Kong Prize

A total of HK$2,20.8 million will be distributed to the winning ticket holders in this year’s Chinese New Year Raceday on January 31. The prize money of the Triple Trio, Quartet and First 4 merged pools will be increased by a further amount from the Jackpot Reserve. The Unit Investment for each Mark Six Entry is $10 and a partial unit investment of HK$5 is accepted. The number of tickets that wins a prize is determined by the ratio of the Partial Unit Investment to the Unit Investment.

At the news awards ceremony this evening, China Daily Hong Kong Edition won four prizes including one top prize and two 1st runner-up prizes in different categories. The newspaper was praised for its focus on local issues and the Mainland’s policies. Its coverage of the pro-Beijing protests last year was also commended for its emphasis on balance and neutrality.

During the recent protests in Hong Kong, many people including police officers, journalists, tourists or students from the mainland and innocent residents were attacked by anti-government protesters. Many public facilities like subway stations, traffic lights and street lamps were also vandalized. On social media, some netizens called for the Hong Kong Prize to be withdrawn because they believe the jury committee only needs photos that can stigmatize and smear China and Hong Kong police, regardless of whether the photos are true or false.

The Hari Art Prize 2024 is open to self-taught artists and art graduates within the first ten years of their careers, although all genres and mediums of artwork are eligible. The competition will award a cash prize of HK$100,000 donated by Dr Aron Harilela. Interested participants can create their accounts here.
